Freelance Make-up Lecturer
What industry do you work in?
I work in the fashion and media industry as a freelance hair and make-up designer.
How did you get into teaching?
Part of my love of the Art of creativity and make-up made me interested in sharing and imparting my wisdom with the budding artist. I connected with being at the beginning of an exciting career and also the vulnerability that comes with learning a new skill.
What are your career highlights?
They are still happening! From shooting on the streets of Paris with Marie Claire to Conde Nast Traveller in the vibrant city of Hong Kong. Filming in the desert in Tunisia and working with celebrated actors and musicians like Sienna Miller, Daryl Hannah, Lenny Kravitz and directors like Stephen Spielberg at the Venice Film Festival. I also work on a lot of film premieres in London which have all been very exciting and a privilege.
How did you get into make-up as a career?
Originally working within the House of Chanel, Givenchy and as a Skincare Specialist at Clarins. I combined make-up, Hair and life studies in Paris, London and Ireland. I also studied display and set design, and briefly worked with the team at Harvey Nichols before being headhunted by a leading London Agent and drawn into the crazy world of Fashion Photography, commercials, Music and Celebrity work.
What is your area of expertise?
I specialise in beauty, especially project-based management for fashion, advertising, television and film. I also work as a consultant creating events for make-up brands. My creative range is extensive and fantastical, I love bringing the imagination to life from feature documentaries to working with Vogue, Tatler, Conde Nast Traveller and ID Magazine.
What is your make-up motto?
Creativity frees the Spirit…have fun with it!
