Freelance Hair & Make-up Lecturer
What do you teach here at the school?
I work as a freelance make-up artist, however I come in to teach some of the specialist modules of the MASA Make-up courses - mostly the bridal and hairstyling units. It is great to have the variety of both industries.
What is your all time favourite make-up product?
I would say that my holy grail product to use on clients is the Charlotte Tilbury foundation - wonder glow. It's very dewy, has great coverage and lets the skin glow.
What made you decide to become a freelance lecturer at LSBM?
When getting the chance to cover a class at LSBM, by the end of the day I just knew teaching was for me. When I was then given the opportunity to stay on and teach regularly I couldn’t resist! As with any line of work the company and work colleagues have a huge impact on your enjoyment, and when you’re surrounded by a great team doing the job you love - it almost doesn’t feel like work at all!
What are your career highlights?
Although having my work published in various magazines and working in TV, I must admit there’s nothing more satisfying than teaching the next generation of aspiring hair and make up artists. There’s just something rewarding about sharing your knowledge, experience and skills with people who are equally as passionate about something as you are.
What is your area of expertise?
Smokey eyes! I will never get bored of creating this look, the majority of my clients will come to me with a smokey eye in mind. It’s the look that is requested and created the most by me.
What is your make-up motto?
Enhance your natural beauty by creating the best possible version of yourself, less is sometimes more.
