Course description
One of our most popular courses for those looking to pursue a career in facials, skincare and advanced aesthetic treatments!
Students will master all professional facials and skin care features, including skin analysis, client consultation, facial massages and advanced electrical facial treatments.
We have also included the VTCT Level 3 Award in Anatomy and Physiology at no extra cost so that students can fully understand the human body!
The course is run as a part-time course over 7 weeks.
During the course, students will complete mandatory modules found in the Level 2 Facial and Skin Care course and the Level 3 Facial Electrotherapy course, using a streamlined process to combine both courses into one qualification.
The course will cover the following units:
- Theory of the skin
- Skin Analysis
- Cleansing, balancing, toning & moisturising
- Steaming, Extraction and Full Facial Massage
- Selecting, mixing and applying tailor-made face masques
- Full facial massage routine
- The theory in this module involves the anatomy & physiology of the upper torso, including the muscles, bones, blood and nerve supply
- Client counselling/consultation techniques
Within this course, you will cover the theory that includes the study of electrical currents and equipment, the storage and care of equipment, contraindications to treatments, safety precautions and the psychological effects of the treatments. You will cover a range of mechanical and electrical therapies for the face, such as;
- Microcurrent (non-surgical facelift)
- Faradic
- High Frequency (direct and indirect)
- Vacuum Suction (lymphatic drainage)
- Galvanic (desincrustation and Iontophoresis)
Anatomy & Physiology:
You will also study the Level 3 Anatomy & Physiology qualification as a part of this course. You will be given an online pack containing all the information, including videos at home.
You will then sit two Anatomy and Physiology exams during class and submit your completed portfolio.
Anatomy & Physiology covers all the major systems of the human body, including;
- Skeletal System
- Muscular System
- Cardiovascular System
- Respiratory System
- Endocrine System
- Integumentary System
- Urinary System
- Reproductive System
- Nervous System
- Digestive System
- Lymphatic System
- Atoms and Ions
Upon completion of the course, you will be required to submit a portfolio of evidence highlighting your practical assessments of clients.
On successful completion, you will receive the following globally recognised and accredited qualifications:
- VTCT Level 2 Award in Facial Massage and Skincare
- VTCT Level 3 Award in Facial Electrotherapy
- VTCT Level 3 Award in Anatomical and Physiological Knowledge of Body Systems
- The minimum age to enrol in this combined facial and skincare diploma is 18 years – no exceptions.
- As this course is designed for beginners, no previous experience is required, although a good general education is essential.
- An excellent level of English is required to attend this course – you must be able to speak, read, write and understand English fluently.
- International students must gain a ‘Standard Visitor Visa’ and pay this course’s relevant International Student Fee.

As mentioned, we have included the VTCT Anatomy and Physiology Knowledge of Body Systems in the course at no extra cost for students.
This is because it is vital for students working in the beauty and facials industry to fully understand the body, muscles and nervous system to ensure they treat their clients safely and effectively. Understanding the human body and potential contraindications will also increase the efficacy of treatments, as learners will only apply treatments to suitable clients.
The course price for our Level 2 and 3 combined Facial and Skin Care training is £2,195.
Included in this price is the course fee- training and examination fees (£2,135), textbook (£20), tunic (£25) and facial kit (£15).
