COURSE DESCRIPTION
  • Perfect for those wanting to focus on facials, combines Level’s 2 and 3 Facial certificates
  • Beginner course taking you to an intermediate level - 3 qualifications 
  • Hands-on and electrotherapy facials
  • Learn facial massage and skin care treatments 
  • Can progress on to the Level 4 Laser course 
  • Ideal for international students as can study on 1 visa
  • Part-time course
  • Salon time and experience will be concluded in classrooms only from September 2023
  • The minimum age for entry to this beauty therapy diploma course is 18 years – no exceptions.
  • No previous experience required, although a good general education is essential for this course.
  • An excellent level of English is required to attend this course, you must be able to speak, read, write and understand English fluently.
  • International students will be required to gain a ‘Standard Visitor Visa’ and pay the relevant International Student Fee for this course.

This course will cover the following units:

  • Theory of the skin
  • Skin Analysis
  • Cleansing, balancing, toning & moisturising
  • Steaming, Extraction and Full Facial Massage
  • Selecting, mixing and applying tailor-made face masques
  • Full facial massage routine
  • The theory in this module involves the anatomy & physiology of the upper torso; including the muscles, bones, blood and nerve supply
  • Client counselling/consultation techniques

Within this course, you will cover the theory that includes: the study of electrical currents and equipment, the storage and care of equipment, contraindications to treatments, safety precautions and the psychological effects of the treatments. You will cover a range of mechanical and electrical treatments for the face such as;

  • Microcurrent (non-surgical facelift)
  • Faradic
  • High Frequency (direct and indirect)
  • Vacuum Suction (lymphatic drainage)
  • Galvanic (desincrustation and Iontophoresis)

ANATOMY & PHYSIOLOGY

You will also study as a part of this course the Level 3 Anatomy & Physiology qualification. You will be given an online pack which will contain all the information that needs to be digested including videos at home. You will then sit two Anatomy and Physiology exams during class time and submit your completed portfolio. Anatomy & Physiology covers all the major systems of the human body including;

  • Skeletal System
  • Muscular System
  • Cardiovascular System
  • Respiratory System
  • Endocrine System
  • Integumentary System
  • Urinary System
  • Reproductive System
  • Nervous System
  • Digestive System
  • Lymphatic System
  • Atoms and Ions

Upon completion of the course you will be required to submit a portfolio of evidence, all practical assessments will be performed on paying clients at LSBM. On successful completion, you will receive the following qualifications:

  • VTCT Level 2 Award in Facial Massage and Skincare
  • VTCT Level 3 Award in Facial Electrotherapy
  • VTCT Level 3 Award in Anatomical and Physiological Knowledge of Body Systems
