Course description
The facial massage and skin care course is a great introduction to facials. Students will learn hands-on techniques, including massage, steaming, exfoliation and moisturising.
Students will also develop their understanding of skincare by selecting, mixing, and applying tailor-made masques.
The course is run as a part-time course, 1 day per week for 6 weeks.
The course is designed for beginners interested in pursuing a career in facial and skincare.
On the course, students will cover the following units as set out by VTCT to achieve their accredited qualification:
- Theory of the skin
- Skin Analysis
- Cleansing, balancing, toning & moisturising
- Steaming, Extraction and Full Facial Massage
- Selecting, mixing, and applying tailor-made face masques
- Full facial massage routine
- The theory in this module involves the anatomy & physiology of the upper torso, including the muscles, bones, blood, and nerve supply
- Client counselling/consultation techniques
Throughout the course, you will be assessed on your practical facial skills by completing professional treatments on clients and fellow students. You must submit a portfolio of treatments for assessment.
After successfully completing the course, you will receive the VTCT Level 2 Facial Massage and Skin Care Certificate. This qualification is widely recognised by employers and training providers globally, so you can pursue a career as a junior facialist or advance to level 3 beauty/facial courses.
- Students must be at least 18 years old to enrol in the course – there are no exceptions.
- As this is a beginner-friendly course, no previous experience is required.
- An excellent level of English (speaking, reading and writing) is required to attend this course.
- International students will be required to gain a ‘Standard Visitor Visa’ and pay the relevant international student fees for the course.

As part of your course fees, the following mandatory items are included -Training, exam fees and certification (£1095), tunic (£25) and Facials kit (£15).
Our course is run as a part-time option over 6 weeks. Allowing students to accommodate ongoing personal and professional commitments.
On the course, students will complete theory and practical training, which includes live demonstrations from tutors and hands-on practice on models to gain experience.
You can work as a Junior Facial Therapist in the commercial facial and beauty sector in salons, spas, or retail beauty/skincare brands.
If you would like to use this course to progress your studies, you can enrol on the Level 3 Facial Electrotherapy Award or Level 2 and 3 Combined Beauty Therapy Diploma upon completion.
