Course description
Our advanced level 3 facials course builds on the knowledge learnt in Level 2 Facials training.
Students in the course will learn advanced facial treatments, including 5 electrotherapy treatments and techniques across multiple machines.
This part-time weekend course allows students to incorporate their training into their existing commitments, running only 1 day a week over 8 weeks.
This course is designed for those who have already completed their Level 2 Facial and Skin Care training in which they developed the foundations of facial treatments.
In level 3, students will focus on more advanced treatments incorporating electrotherapy machines. Within this course, you will cover the theory that includes the study of electrical currents and equipment, the storage and care of equipment, contraindications to treatments, safety precautions, and the psychological effects of the treatments. You will cover a range of mechanical and electrical therapies for the face, such as;
- Microcurrent (non-surgical facelift)
- Faradic
- High Frequency (direct and indirect)
- Vacuum Suction (lymphatic drainage)
- Galvanic (desincrustation and Iontophoresis)
Anatomy & Physiology:
As a part of this course, you will also learn the VTCT Level 3 Anatomy & Physiology certificate, which will cover the entire body systems required for further advanced courses. This part of the course is entirely theoretical and is a home study programme that involves printer access.
You will be given an online learning pack containing all the information that needs to be digested, including videos and revision exercises. To complete this qualification, you will be required to complete a Pathology Project and sit two Anatomy and Physiology exams in school. Anatomy & Physiology covers all the major systems of the human body, including;
- Skeletal System
- Muscular System
- Cardiovascular System
- Respiratory System
- Endocrine System
- Integumentary System
- Urinary System
- Reproductive System
- Nervous System
- Digestive System
- Lymphatic System
- Atoms and Ions
To complete the course, students will complete assessments that test their theory and practical skills. They will also be required to submit a portfolio of evidence outlining completed treatments.
On successful completion, you will receive the following globally recognised and accredited qualifications:
- VTCT Level 3 Award in Facial Electrotherapy
- VTCT Level 3 Award in Anatomical and Physiological Knowledge of Body Systems
- You must be 18 years of age to enrol on the course – there are no exceptions to this requirement.
- Learners must have already completed a Level 2 Facial or Beauty qualification.
- Students must have an excellent command of English to attend this course – you must be able to speak, read, write and understand English fluently.

The course price for our VTCT Level 3 Facial Electrotherapy course is £1,395.
Included in this price is the course fee- training and examination fees (£1,250), textbook (£20) and tunic (£25). Our beauty school provides all the tools and equipment for in-person training.
Students must complete their hands-on practical training on classmates first under tutor supervision.
Once they are confident and competent, they will perfect their professional facial techniques on clients in our professional classroom environment designed to mimic a salon environment.
Upon completing this course, you will have all the necessary skills and understanding to work in the facial, beauty and aesthetic industry as a qualified facial expert.
Students may also use this course as a stepping stone to move on to advanced aesthetic Level 4 training courses, such as our Level 4 Laser and IPL course.

Only a 25% Deposit is required to secure your place on this course if the course start date is more than 1 calendar month away.
