Course description
The fully accredited VTCT Level 2 Beauty Therapy Diploma is perfect for those looking to complete a well-rounded,beginner-friendly beauty therapy training course.
In the course, students will master fundamental commercial beauty treatments, including Manicures & pedicures, Facials, Waxing, and Brow & Lash Treatments, alongside the theoretical understanding behind these popular treatments.
The course is run as a part-time option, 1 day a week for 23 weeks.
The extremely popular course is designed for beginners who want to start their journey in professional beauty therapy.
During the course, students will cover the following modules set out by VTCT to complete their accredited qualification, ensuring they have the skills required to thrive as junior beauty therapists.
Facials and Skincare:
- Skin Analysis
- Cleansing, balancing, toning & moisturising
- Steaming, Extraction and Full Facial Massage
- Selecting, mixing and applying tailor-made face masques
- The theory in this module involves the anatomy & physiology of the upper torso, including the muscles, bones, blood and nerve supply
- Theory of the skin
Waxing:
- Two different methods of hair removal: hot beeswax and cream strip wax
- Techniques for waxing all areas of the face and body
- Theory work on hair growth and patterns
- Post-treatment care techniques
- Consultation and selling skills
Lash & Brow Treatments:
- Patch test techniques
- Eyelash and eyebrow tinting
- Eyelash perming techniques
- Eyebrow shaping
Manicure & Pedicure:
- Maintenance and care techniques for the nails, the skin of the hands and feet
- The application of colour to the nails on both hands and feet
- French manicure and pedicure techniques
- Paraffin wax and warm oil treatments
- The theory of this unit includes an in-depth study of the structure of the nail as well as the anatomy and physiology of the rest of the lower leg and forearms
General Competencies:
- Contraindications to all treatments
- Client consultation & selling techniques
- Classroom salon experience and management duties
The course will assess students through tutor observations and practical and theoretical exams. They will also need to hand in a portfolio of treatments within 6 weeks of completing the course.
You will receive the VTCT Level 2 Beauty Therapy Studies Diploma upon completion.
The Level 2 Beauty Diploma is recognised globally by employers, local councils and education providers.
- Students must be at least 18 years old to enrol in the course – there are no exceptions.
- To complete the coursework and examinations, learners must have a high standard of English language proficiency, including reading, writing, and speaking.
- No previous beauty experience is required, although students are expected to have a strong interest.
- International students will be required to gain a ‘Short-term Study Visa; however, we do not accept International Students for the Saturday course or the part-time options.
Once you have completed the Level 2 Beauty Therapy Diploma, you can seek employment as a junior beauty therapist in the commercial beauty industry, including beauty salons, spas, health clubs, and the retail beauty sector.
Alternatively, you can progress directly onto the Level 3 Beauty Therapy Diploma to further advance your skills and career.
The costs of the Level 2 Beauty Therapy Diploma include the theoretical and practical training, exam fees, and certification (£2332), as well as the uniform (£25), Beauty kit (£75), and Lash Kit (£63).
