Sophie’s journey into the world of laser and IPL treatments was a dream long in the making. Enrolling in the Level 4 Laser & IPL course in 2022 proved to be a transformative experience for her.
Reflecting on her time at LSBM, Sophie describes it as incredible.
She emphasises how approachable and attentive her tutor was and how it was made sure students performed treatments to the highest standard and attention to detail – every aspect of her education exceeded her expectations.
But how did her journey begin?
Sophie worked as a Dental Nurse prior to COVID. The onset of the COVID-19 pandemic presented Sophie with a unique opportunity to further expand her skill set. She started studying a variety of Beauty and Aesthetics courses covering microneedling, dermaplaning, and skin booster injectables. The more she learned, the more she realised the potential to enhance her services and cater to a wider range of client needs.
She always wanted to learn Laser and IPL treatments and when her friend, who worked in the field decided to change career paths and sell her laser machine, Sophie took it as a sign. She purchased the machine from her friend and became Lynton registered.
She then chose LSBM to provide her with the training. She says: “Laser training was a great decision for me, it has broadened my treatment list and allows me to add to the business in the future, as I’m not just trained in hair removal but skin rejuvenation and thread vein removal too”.
Today, Sophie finds so much fulfilment in her work. While she offers a variety of treatments, she says that laser procedures are the most popular among the variety of treatments she offers.
She states: “My clients are always so happy with the results. Spending so much time with them allows me to get to know them really well and build great connections. I also love the flexibility of being my own boss”.
The joy of witnessing her clients’ satisfaction and building lasting connections with them reaffirms her decision to embark on this path.
As she continues to thrive in her role as a business owner, Sophie is grateful for the solid foundation laid by her professional training. Armed with confidence and expertise, she meets the challenges of entrepreneurship with ease, enjoying the freedom of deciding her schedule, holidays and locations where she wants to work.
