Level 3 Fast Track Blog Post

Do you currently hold a Level 2 qualification? Are you wanting to advance as a fully qualified beauty therapist and acquire the needed skills in beauty treatments for hotels, spas, health clubs, high street beauty salons, and aesthetic clinics?

We are very excited to announce that our VTCT Level 3 Beauty Therapy Fast Track Course is now available to attend 1 day per week.

Do you currently hold a Level 2 qualification? Are you wanting to advance as a fully qualified beauty therapist and acquire the needed skills in beauty treatments for hotels, spas, health clubs, high street beauty salons and aesthetic clinics?

For many students, completing Level 2 is an exciting first step into the beauty industry. It gives you the foundation, introduces you to professional treatment standards and helps you begin developing confidence with clients. The next question is often where to go from there. If you want to broaden your treatment knowledge, improve your practical ability and work towards becoming a more fully competent beauty therapist, Level 3 is usually the natural next stage.

London School of Beauty is very excited to offer the VTCT Level 3 Beauty Therapy Diploma as a part-time weekend course, available to attend one day per week. This route has been designed for students who already have a Level 2 Beauty Therapy or Level 2 Facials qualification and want to continue their training in a structured, practical and career-focused way.

We have had great success with our Level 3 beauty therapy training, and due to high demand and a lot of enquiries, the course is available as a Saturday option for students who need a more flexible study pattern. This makes it especially suitable for learners who may be working during the week, changing careers gradually, balancing family commitments or looking for a professional training route that fits around real life.

Why Progress From Level 2 to Level 3 Beauty Therapy?

Level 2 gives you the essential starting point, but Level 3 helps you move into more advanced beauty therapy treatments and a broader professional skill set. It is the stage where many students begin to feel more confident, more employable and better prepared for the expectations of the beauty, spa and wellness industries.

At Level 3, you are not only learning additional treatments. You are developing the judgement, consultation skills, client care and technical understanding needed to work safely and professionally. Treatments such as body massage, facial electrotherapy, body electrotherapy and microdermabrasion require more than basic technique. They involve understanding client suitability, contraindications, treatment aims, equipment use, health and safety, aftercare and professional standards.

This is why the VTCT Level 3 Beauty Therapy Diploma can be such an important progression point. It helps students move beyond foundation-level training and begin building the practical confidence expected of a professional beauty therapist.

Attendance of Course

This course is delivered one day per week on Saturdays, from 10am to 5pm, for 22 weeks.

The weekend structure allows students to continue progressing without committing to a full-time weekday timetable. For many learners, this makes the course more manageable because there is time between training days to practise, revise, complete written work and absorb the skills being taught.

Although the course is part-time, it should still be treated as a serious professional qualification. Students will need to attend regularly, complete practical training, prepare for assessments and build their portfolio of evidence. The advantage of the weekend format is that it gives you a clear weekly rhythm while still allowing time for other commitments.

Who Is This Course For?

The Level 3 Beauty Therapy weekend course is designed for students who have already completed a suitable Level 2 qualification and are ready to progress. It is not a beginner course, but it is an excellent next step if you already have a foundation in beauty or facials and want to expand your knowledge.

You may be looking to become more employable in salons, spas, hotels, health clubs or clinics. You may want to strengthen your treatment menu before becoming self-employed. You may also be thinking ahead to advanced training in aesthetics, laser or skin-focused treatments and want a stronger professional base before moving forward.

The live course page states that students must be at least 18 years old and must hold a full Level 2 Beauty Therapy Diploma or Level 2 Facials qualification before joining. Students must also have an excellent command of English, as the course involves theory, written assignments, assessment and professional communication. If you are unsure whether your previous qualification is suitable, it is best to contact the admissions team before booking.

Key Areas Covered in This Course

The VTCT Level 3 Beauty Therapy Diploma covers a range of advanced beauty therapy treatments and professional skills. These areas help students build a broader, more employable treatment base while continuing to develop the standards expected in professional beauty therapy.

Key areas covered in this course include:

  • Facial electrotherapy treatments, including vacuum suction, high frequency, galvanic, faradic and microcurrent

  • Body electrotherapy treatments, including vacuum suction, microcurrent, galvanic and faradic

  • Body massage

  • Indian head massage

  • Microdermabrasion

  • Anatomy and physiology

  • Monitor and maintain health and safety practice in the salon

  • Consultation and promotion of products and treatments

These treatment areas are important because they reflect the type of practical skills often expected in professional beauty and wellness settings. Body massage, for example, remains a highly valued treatment in spas and salons. Facial electrotherapy and microdermabrasion introduce students to more advanced skin and equipment-based treatments. Anatomy and physiology helps students understand the body in more depth, supporting safer and more informed treatment practice.

The course also supports students in developing consultation skills, professional communication and an understanding of how to recommend products and treatments appropriately. This is a key part of becoming a confident beauty therapist because clients are not only looking for technical ability; they also need to feel listened to, understood and professionally cared for.

Practical Training and Tutor Support

A major part of Level 3 beauty therapy training is the practical experience students gain during the course. At London School of Beauty, students are supported by experienced industry lecturers who guide them through the techniques, standards and professional expectations required for this level of study.

Practical training gives students the opportunity to build confidence gradually. It allows you to understand how treatments feel in real time, how to prepare correctly, how to adapt your technique and how to respond to tutor feedback. This is especially important for treatments involving equipment, such as facial and body electrotherapy, where safety, technique and client suitability must be understood properly.

The course is not just about learning a list of treatments. It is about learning how to work like a beauty therapist. That means understanding how to consult with clients, prepare your treatment area, work safely, communicate professionally, maintain hygiene, provide aftercare and complete treatments to the expected standard.

Assessments

There are written assignments, practical assessments and test papers to complete as part of this Diploma. You will be assisted in your learning by our outstanding team of industry lecturers.

Assessment is an important part of the VTCT Level 3 Beauty Therapy Diploma because it helps confirm that students can apply their knowledge and practical skills safely and professionally. You will be expected to demonstrate both theory understanding and hands-on competence.

Students are also required to submit a portfolio of evidence outlining completed treatments. This portfolio supports your development throughout the course and shows the progress you make as you build confidence across different treatment areas.

For many students, assessments can feel daunting at first, especially when moving into more advanced treatments. However, they are also an important part of becoming professionally prepared. They help you understand where you are improving, what needs more practice and how to meet the standards expected in the beauty industry.

Where Can This Course Take Me?

This course will help you to gain employment in beauty retail, spas, salons and clinics in the UK. It can also support students who want the opportunity to change career completely or work for themselves in their free time, with more flexibility over their working hours.

A Level 3 Beauty Therapy qualification can make you more confident when applying for roles in the beauty, spa and wellness sectors because it shows that you have moved beyond foundation training. Employers often look for therapists who can offer a wider treatment menu and work safely with more advanced treatments.

Possible routes after completing Level 3 may include working in a beauty salon, spa, hotel, health club, wellness environment, beauty retail setting or clinic environment. Some students may choose to become self-employed, while others may use the qualification as a stepping stone towards further study.

It is important to approach this realistically. A qualification provides a strong foundation, but your career development will also depend on practice, professionalism, client care, confidence and continued learning. Level 3 gives you the training base, but your growth as a therapist continues through experience.

A Stepping Stone Into Advanced Training

For students who are interested in progressing further, the VTCT Level 3 Beauty Therapy Diploma can also support future movement into more advanced treatment areas. Many students who complete Level 3 later consider Level 4 courses, such as laser and IPL treatments or advanced skin-focused qualifications.

This progression matters because advanced training usually requires a strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, consultation, safety and professional treatment planning. Level 3 helps strengthen those areas and can make the transition into higher-level study feel more natural.

If you are interested in aesthetics, skin rejuvenation or advanced beauty treatments in the future, completing Level 3 can be a valuable step in building the right foundation.

Fully Recognised and Insurable Course

The VTCT Level 3 Beauty Therapy Diploma is a fully recognised and insurable course.

Vocational Training Charitable Trust, known as VTCT Skills, is a leading UK awarding body offering vocational and technical qualifications in a range of service sectors. With more than 800 approved centres, VTCT has an ever-expanding list of centres throughout the UK and Ireland, with an increasing international presence.

VTCT qualifications are regulated by Ofqual and approved by the UK Government.

Insurance for these qualifications can be obtained from many companies, all of whom recognise VTCT as a leading awarding body producing beauty therapy qualifications and standards in their respective fields of study.

This recognition is important because students should always consider the credibility of the qualification they are working towards. Beauty therapy is a practical profession built on trust, safety and professional standards. A recognised qualification can support your employability, professional credibility and ability to obtain appropriate insurance after training.

Why Study Level 3 Beauty Therapy at London School of Beauty?

Choosing where to study is an important decision. At Level 3, you need more than a short course or a quick introduction to treatments. You need structured training, clear tutor support and enough practical experience to build confidence properly.

London School of Beauty provides a professional training environment where students are supported as they develop both technical and theoretical skills. The course is designed to help learners progress from Level 2 into more advanced treatment areas while understanding what it means to work safely and professionally.

For students who may feel nervous about returning to study, changing careers or moving into more advanced treatments, the weekend format can make the journey feel more manageable. It gives you space to build your skills steadily while still working towards a recognised qualification.

Is the Weekend Level 3 Beauty Therapy Course Right for You?

The weekend course may be right for you if you already hold a suitable Level 2 qualification and want to progress into more advanced beauty therapy training. It may also be a good fit if you want to study part-time, need a Saturday option, or prefer having time between training days to practise and complete your course work.

Before enrolling, it is worth considering whether you are ready for the commitment. Although the course is one day per week, it still requires focus, attendance, practical involvement, written work and preparation for assessment.
