Our facial training pathway at London School of Beauty is changing. From January 2027, our new Level 3 Access to Aesthetics + Level 3 Facial Electrotherapy programme replaces the Level 2 and 3 Combined Facials and Skin Care course for new starters.
This article explains the thinking behind the upgrade, how the qualifications fit together and what the change means for your next step. For the full syllabus, entry requirements, dates and payment options, visit the combined Level 3 course page.
Choosing your first facial course is also choosing the foundations of your future practice. You may want to work as a facialist, join a skin clinic or continue into advanced aesthetics. Understanding how each stage connects helps you plan that journey.
The updated programme brings a dedicated access qualification together with a specialist facial electrotherapy award. Consultation, skin knowledge and informed treatment decisions remain central, with a clearer connection between your foundation studies and potential further training.

The qualification combination changes. Instead of the former Level 2 and 3 route, successful learners on the new programme achieve:
These are two distinct qualifications with complementary roles. Access to Aesthetic Therapies develops the underpinning knowledge for facial practice and further study. Facial Electrotherapy adds specialist skills in electrical facial treatments.
What remains is the importance of understanding the person behind each treatment: their skin, concerns and suitability. Practical facial skills, thoughtful consultation and appropriate aftercare continue to underpin your learning.

The combined route is designed for beginners, including people changing careers. Studying the foundations alongside facial electrotherapy helps you connect theory with practical decisions, rather than seeing each qualification as an isolated step.
Your previous experience, available study time and future goals still matter. Before booking, check the course entry requirements and speak to our admissions team if you need help choosing your starting point.
A dedicated access qualification helps establish knowledge that further aesthetics study can build upon. It gives your first stage of learning a clear connection to longer-term ambitions in skin treatments.
Progression is subject to the entry requirements of each subsequent course. Completing this programme does not automatically grant entry to every Level 4 qualification. Our team can check your qualifications against the particular programme you are considering.
This combined Level 3 programme does not qualify you to perform injectable treatments. Further specialist education would be required.

The final intake of the previous Level 2 and 3 Combined Facials and Skin Care course starts on 22 October 2026 and is fully booked. The new programme begins in January 2027. If you already have a booking, contact admissions with any questions about your existing course.
