VTCT Level 3 Body Electrotherapy Certificate
This VTCT Level 3 Body Electrotherapy course includes the study and practice with a range of mechanical and electrical treatments for the body that are highly desirable within the industry and an extension to body massage treatments.
Electrical Body treatments offer a range of benefits including; improved muscle tone, contour, assist with sluggish lymphatic or circulatory problems, and improve uneven skin texture.
Here at LSBM we will teach you the full consultation technique, A&P, theory of the machines, how to safely use each machine and how to pad up your client for the desired effect. You will learn the following machines; Faradic (Slendertone), G5 Mechanical Massage, Vacuum Suction (lymphatic drainage) and Galvanic (desincrustation and Iontophoresis).
Students will gain commercial salon experience* in our on-site LSBM Salon & Spa, where all treatments will be provided to paying clients in a professional environment and overseen by your tutor and our Pro Therapists.
Only a 25% Deposit is required to secure your place on this course if the course start date is more than 1 calendar month away. International students will need to pay an International student fee. Within this course you will cover the theory that includes the study of electrical currents and equipment, the storage and care of equipment, contraindications to treatments, safety precautions and the psychological effects of the treatments.
You will cover a range of mechanical and electrical treatments for the body such as;

- Vacuum Suction (lymphatic drainage)
- Galvanic (desincrustation and Iontophoresis)
ANATOMY & PHYSIOLOGY
For the first 6 weeks of the course, you will study Anatomy & Physiology on Friday's. For the first 5 Friday's this is a home study programme where printer access is required. You will be given an online pack which will contain all the information that needs to be digested including videos. Week 6 will be where you sit two Anatomy and Physiology exams in school and submit your completed portfolio, this day will be from 10am - 2pm. You will not be required to attend the school on Friday's after you have completed the Anatomy & Physiology aspect of the course.

COMMERCIAL SALON EXPERIENCE

Students will also participate in our student salon* (LSBM Salon & Spa) once they have built up a certain level of competency with treatments. Our salon is run by professional therapists and is open throughout the year, therefore we have a large client base for both our professional therapists and our student therapists.
* Although the ‘normal’ study hours are 10am–5pm, you will also be required to practice your treatments in our student salon from week 4 on a Monday and Tuesday. The salon hours for these days will be 11am - 7pm.
Upon completion of the course you will be required to submit a portfolio of evidence, all practical assessments will be performed on paying clients in the LSBM Salon & Spa.
On successful completion you will receive the following qualifications:
- VTCT Level 3 in Body Electrotherapy
- VTCT Level 3 Anatomy and Physiology Diploma
- The minimum age for entry to this course is 18 years – no exceptions.
- An excellent level of English is required to attend this course, you must be able to speak, read, write and understand English fluently.
- International students will be required to gain a 'Short-term Study Visa'.
